Once these individuals complete their school life, they don't have opportunities to continue their further studies as our education system doesn't offer suitable programmes for them. Prior to that, MAP was formed in April 2016 to uplift the life of individuals with special needs. MAP started it's operation in October 2017 at Tingkat Sungai Gelugor 2, 11700 Gelugor, Penang. Currently, the operation is being conducted at YWCA, No 8A, Jalan Masjid Negeri , 11600 Jelutong, Penang. Our main focus is to equip individuals with special needs in:
-
Basic education
-
Skills training
-
Job placement
-
Independent living
At MAP, we are running a sheltered workshop for the individuals with special needs. We have few suppliers support us by giving us projects . Our MAP trainees will be taught to do the projects and will be given allowance for their work. Some of our projects are packing henna dye shampoo, rolling finger cots, packing fertilizers, packing sphagnum moss and wrapping PVC pipe with coconut husk.
MAP also being a bridge between employers and employee with special needs . We had sent few individuals with special needs for job placement.
MAP is intending to give a meaningful life for the individuals with special needs.
